A pioneer in blow extrusion, Company Chairman and Managing Director, Abel Barbier :

In 1955, Société Sigolénoise de l'Industrie du Plastique was founded employing 4 people at the very dawn of Polyethylene conversion.

In 1960, Société Barbier was created, soon to be joined in 1964 by SOVUPLAST.

In 1980, SOREP, and in 1986 SOPIL joined the Group.

Then in 1994, EXHAFILM was taken over, becoming the Group's first external expansion.

In 1989, Société Barbier, which was too cramped at its Sainte-Sigolène site, created a new Production Site at Monistrol sur Loire. Over 10 years 4 production units have been built on this Site.
